ArabNet is looking for proposals for Lightning Talks to be given during the ArabNet Developer Days. Lightning Talks are independent, community organized, fast-paced 5-minute talks given by experienced developers, engineers, or designers from the community about a specific case-study or experience that they've encountered throughout their career.

We’re looking for proposals that relate to web or mobile development or design, from novice to advanced levels. We especially welcome first-time speakers who would like to share their experience. If you know someone who has an interesting case-study that is valuable to the community, talk them into submitting a proposal!

Accepted proposals will be able to attend the ArabNet Digital Summit Developer Days free of charge.

Sample subjects (includes, but not limited to):

Development:

  • Arabizing open-source development tools (localization and/or internationalization)
  • Enabling Arabic web development
  • Handling and fixing Arabic language related issues/bugs in web and/or mobile development
  • Freelancers Nightmares: dealing with clients

Design:

  • Arabic Typography on the web
  • UI/UX design for the Arab mainstream audience
  • Freelancers Nightmares: dealing with clients

Submitted talks can be given either in English or in Arabic.

Submit NOW! Deadline for submissions is February 15, 2012.
Submitters chosen for talks will be contacted one week before the announcement on the 1st of March.
