Qordoba, a web-based content creation company that delivers high quality translation and editing jobs, officially launched today. The service is an online paltform that combines Statistical Machine Translation and a network of freelance translators and editors for Arabic Translation.

Qordoba will allow global companies to break the language barrier and tap into the Middle East market while local companies would be able to expand their scope of operations and compete on a global level more efficiently.

Founder May Habib was quoted as saying in the official press release “(…) the Arab world is under-equipped to bring quality Arabic language content and innovative software to global audiences. We want to make accessing new markets fast as well as affordable.” Additionally the service will allow for Arabic translators to promote and monetize their skills.

The service currently has more than 400 pre-screened translators and editors in 30 countries.
