Building on the success of ArabNet Cairo, ArabNet Riyadh and our annual Digital Summit, today we are happy to announce ArabNet Beirut, a 3 day event which will take place on March 20-22 and feature more than 80 top speakers from the region and beyond to tackle the latest and greatest in the web and mobile business.

Located at the heart of the Levant region where media companies, ad agencies and development houses bustle with talent, ArabNet Beirut will address a range of topics relating to the web and mobile landscape while placing special emphasis on digital entertainment and the creative sectors.

In 2011, around $200 million was spent on digital media according to The National, and online ad spending has been increasing by more than 35-40% per year, according to Booz & Co. Lebanon, for example, has seen digital ad spend rise from a lowly $1.6M in 2009 to $10.2M in 2012, and is expected to reach $23M in 2015. The potential for digital content is further emphasized by the region’s strong appetite for video consumption with Saudi Arabia accounting for the highest number of YouTube views per Internet user in the world. MENA dwellers aren’t just consuming either-- each passing minute accounts for one hour of video being uploaded to YouTube from the region

ArabNet Beirut will kick off with "Design+Code", a day targeting designers, developers and entrepreneurs with workshops focused on building great web & mobile products.  It will be followed by two forum days jam-packed with talks, panels and workshops that will address a range of issues including online entertainment, digital art & culture, design and fashion, social media, social impact and entrepreneurship.

ArabNet Beirut will also include "Social Impact Sessions": during the 2 days of the Forum, the formal program will conclude at 4:00 PM each day and attendees will disperse for workshops and talks focused on social entrepreneurship, community and citizenship taking place in different venues. Conference attendees will also get the chance to experience Beirut firsthand as a unique global destination for food, culture and entertainment with planned nightly dinners, concerts, exhibitions and social activities.

Additionally, the conference will include our signature entrepreneur competitions, the Ideathon and Startup Demo, as well as a new competition for young creative talents in digital advertising, with more details to be revealed soon.

We are expecting more than 600 leading executives, entrepreneurs, developers, designers and creative participants. Don't miss the chance to be part of this exciting event and mingle with the region's leaders in creation - register now!

Furthermore, the ArabNet Digital Summit 2013 will be held in Dubai in late May and will tackle the hottest trends and opportunities in the regional and global digital industry. As always, the summit will be a prime location for entrepreneurs, executives, investors and the media to meet, mingle and learn.

In addition to forum days, the Digital Summit will include the Industry Day, which will delve into how digital technology is revolutionizing traditional sectors, like education and travel / tourism.  It will also showcase the most promising entrepreneurs from ArabNet Riyadh and ArabNet Beirut, as well as the awaited grand finale of the ArabNet Developer Tournament. More information will unravel as we go along, so stay tuned!
