As the Chief Financial Officer in Microsoft Arabia, Wala’a is responsible for leading the financial management of the Saudi subsidiary, overseeing Revenue and Growth Outlook, Investments, Compliance and Financial Controlling. Under her supervision and active engagement, the subsidiary drives strategic investments in Azure penetration and consumption and targets a strong and healthy opportunity pipeline while maintaining a strong focus in compliant business and in risk free affiliations with the partners’ ecosystem.
Since joining Microsoft in 2017 Wala’a has served in key positions as Enterprise & Partners Controller and Financial Controller. She has excelled in these roles receiving awards for best business partnering and successful and timely VAT implementation, streamlining cost relating operations during major re organizations and removing blockers which led to major revenue realization for the subsidiary.
Throughout her tenure in Microsoft Wala’a has shown a passion for people development and engagement and she is the designated Saudi Diversity and Inclusion Officer. In this vital role for the subsidiary she enjoys energizing teams and contributing to an inclusive and inviting working environment. Wala’a leads with growth mindset, a genuine delight in diverse and vibrant communities and a strong sense of appreciation for all people.
Prior to joining Microsoft Wala’a held several regional positions in Siemens moving swiftly through the ranks to be awarded senior positions as Deputy Head of Treasury and Finance, Country Head of Financing and Divisional Country Coordinator. Earlier in her career she worked in National Commercial Bank and Emmar in senior economist and investment manager posts.
Wala’a holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Dar Al-Hekma Private College and an MBA in General Management from Steinbeis University in Berlin.
Wala’a is the proud mum of two children and enjoys keeping and advocating a healthy work life balance.
