GameLoft recently launched an Arabic version for the world famous iOS and Android game “Despicable Me: Minion Rush”; where millions of users have been running and catching bananas ever since the sequel of the movie was released in July 2013. If you’ve been playing the game in English and want to play it in Arabic; all you have to do is update it, go to the settings menu, and choose the Arabic language from there. Simple.

For those unfamiliar with the game, minions are yellow funny talking 3D cartoon creatures that compete against each other in gradually speeding up challenges to impress their boss Gru (the not-so-evil character from the movie). Players get to run, jump, fly, slide, dodge obstacles, get through shortcuts, and win challenges and villains to ultimately earn the title of “Minion of the Year”.

The update that includes Arabic has a new environment that allows players to discover secrets of “Control Organization” villains. The update also has a new mini-game called “Open Lock” which takes place on the moon’s surface, a new costume uniform to add to the collection, and more competitive local daily challenges that let players from different countries win prizes. While you can already customize your minion by getting valuable power-ups, weapons, and shopping for different costumes, you should still keep an eye out for new exciting features that are added every couple of updates.

The game is filled with spontaneously funny moments where players run through diverse locations, avoiding awkward obstacles, and going through secret areas in Gru’s residential area and laboratory, at El Macho’s Lair, and at the Minion Beach. El Macho and Battle Vector are some of the villains your minion has to face; they don’t appear in the movie, so they are game-exclusive.

The game animation is really special, and it envelops players in the heart of the movie, even the voice-overs are the same quality as the film.

Flexibility is another asset this game has, from game modes where you turn to a Mega Minion and run a path of destruction, to watching your minion run through various camera angles, you can even collect bananas while riding the “Fluffy Unicorn” or a missile rocket.
