Entrepreneurs gathered at Beirut Digital District (BDD) on November 30^th to December 2^nd for Techstars Global Startup Weekend Beirut AI Edition where learn how to build a company in a weekend. The 3-Day event is in collaboration with Beirut AI to locally promote the Applied AI community. There were over 300 people attending various talks, workshops, and the Techstars Startup Weekend Beirut AI Demo Day pitches with 40 to 50 participants and 7 teams.

The 1^st place winner Tummy is a platform that provides a service for predicting, preventing and treating patients with COPD conditions using wearables and AI. The 2^nd place team Fi+ is a solution for mobile connectivity that incorporates intelligent switching between operators based on coverage and price per Mb of data. 3rd place Dronelivery aims to be the 1^st delivery service utilizing drones in Lebanon.

The learning experience strived to bring together developers, business experts, and designer individuals to form teams and together turn their ideas into early stage prototypes. Each team went through an intensive bootcamp of workshops on design thinking, business model canvas, digital marketing, and pitch training.

Expert mentors were present throughout the weekend to guide the participants, “It was great to see so many new faces in the ecosystem. It was the 1^st Techstars Startup Weekend for many of them so they did not know what to expect. By the end of the weekend they told us how valuable it had been, how much they had learned and how excited they were to keep going with their new friends! It was the amazing to hear and it’s all about building this community!”
