Kalimat is an Arabic word game that displays letters in circles that you swipe together to connect letters, forming an Arabic word. The game is a simple, yet challenging concept, fit for any age group. While it would be a great choice for Arabic language lovers, its art and overall aesthetic are polished, you can see it in the design of the game.

Na3m Games is the creator of Kalimat, you might know their earlier work from Harwil Ya Wahsh, Caravan Master Adventures, and Football Mashup. Players begin by selecting the game mode they wish to play:

Speed mode requires you to collect the needed points within a specific period of time, Normal mode only asks you create as many words as you can from the letters displayed, and both modes have different levels with increasing difficulty. Challenge mode allows you to challenge other players in Apple’s Game Center.

After that, you are brought to the levels page where you can play up to the most recent level you advanced to. You must achieve a specific set of points to advance to the next level. The way you advance from level to level is by pressing on a pulsating tick that appears on the top left corner of the page once you collect enough points.

Each level is equipped with certain power-ups. When you start the game, you are given a certain amount of each power-up, but once you have used them up, you have the option of buying more, this will probably happen when you reach a difficult level and you’re out of power-ups. There are special feature packages that vary in price and size:

The first feature allows the player to draw a line, connecting two letters, through another line.  Typically, once a line is drawn, you cannot cross it, but this feature allows you to work around that.

The second feature is a small circle you can place in a desired spot on the screen that forms a connection point in the event of lines or letters hindering the formation of a possible word.

The third and final feature gives you the ability to change the position of a letter under the condition that it is not already connected in an existing word.

Kalimat is free-to-play, so it does not require the user to make any sort of payment to download the game, the game can be played without ever having to make a purchase in the game.  However, the user does have the option of purchasing power-ups if they so choose.

Kalimat can be downloaded from Apple’s App Store.  So far, it is only available on iOS
